question

So what is known about uterine fibroids? I completely forgot until a conversation I had yesterday that the Docs found a big one at the top of my uterus when they delivered Valerie. I'm not sure what the implications are. Anyone know? (I do plan to ask the Doc about this the next time I see him).

I'm over here from Mel's Lost and Found. I've had lots of experience with uterine fibroids. I had several removed via laparoscopic surgery. Feel free to e-mail me at phoebephoenixtales@gmail.com with specific details.

Get all the details from your doctor about size and location of your fibroid. Is it subserosal, intramural or submucosal? Submucosal is the worst kind to have. Those types of fibroids are known to interfere with pregnancy. Mine were all subserosal, but they were causing problems with spotting between my periods.

hi, I'm also here from mel and also have lots of experience with fibroids. phoebe gave you some good advice. much depends on what time, how big, and where it is. feel free to email me, or leave a comment on my blog.

I meant what "type," not "time"! proofreading would help. sorry.

I'm also here regarding fibroids. I had to have quite a few removed via myomectomy. I have all the tests I had to go through, MRI, HSG, Sonohystereogram, plus details of my myomectomy on my blog. Feel free to email me if you need further information.

Just posting about the fibroids -- Phoebe is right that it depends on where they are, what kind they are, and size. Mine is on the back and outside of my uterus, and doesn't seem to cause any problems so it remains there unless it grows or becomes problematic.
feel free to email me if you'd like any more info. And congrats on your daughter!!

I don't know about complications, but they can get rather large. My MIL had one the size of a bread loaf and my SIL had one the size of a soccer ball. Both were discovered during other surgeries.

I love the pics in the previous post.
