I've decided that my knitting is post-ironic. Not sure where I came across that particular hyphenated adjective but it seems to fit. I am pretty sure that blogging about knitting being post-ironic is, however, highly ironic (unless it's post-post ironic...posting?)...
Stay tuned...

post irony???
i don't want to live in such a world!
I know, irony is an essential element, right? I think I saw it on a web site of a guy who writes really thoughtful commentary on reality shows; pure irony could not tolerate taking reality TV seriously, but post-irony can - I think in the same way that knitting embraces the inner dork. I think that calling it post-ironic has to do with embracing the irony and then transcending it - or something. Question for the day: is irony a balm for embarrassment? I find myself most un-ironic about the things that I feel like I should be contemptuous of but am not - like being really into yarn. I'm definitely over-explaining this.
Like, postmodernism is irony-saturated, but it's not the end of the story...
